Work Performed:
Pressure Washing

We faced both logistical problems and a ticking clock with the cleaning of the Europa Center. We had done small projects for them over the years cleaning the steps and back patio, but this job would be pressure washing the building and parking garage exteriors and windows for the entire 183,000-square-foot campus.

In mid-June we had two teams working simultaneously at the Europa Center. One crew performed exterior cleaning of the building and windows with a combination of rope descent access and a boom lift. Another crew focused on the parking garage façade including pressure washing of the painted exterior wall surfaces and exterior railings, as well as the courtyard hardscape surfaces.

The grass surrounding one side of the building ruled out a boom lift, and we ultimately chose repelling for that area over a drone to avoid chemical runoff. Little did we know our, considering how much water drones use, as Durham was about to implement stage 2 water restrictions. We also had to work around tenants while cleaning during the day, and one of our dedicated technicians came back at night to make sure the job was completed.

We’re currently talking with the property manager about annual window and patio cleaning to maintain the office building’s upscale reputation.
